Darrell has served as an Edmond Council Member since 2011. He began volunteering his time to better the City of Edmond in 1996. He served as both a member and chairman of the Edmond Park and Recreation Advisory Board. Darrell led the charge to develop many of our city’s most prized destinations, including the MAC Senior Center and—more recently—the Edmond Tennis Center, with more thoughtful developments on the way. Darrell and his wife, Marti, have been married more than 40 years. They raised three children who all graduated from Edmond Santa Fe High School. Darrell and Marti instilled the values of hard work, personal responsibility and service to others. Their children are living those values today, two serving in public school administration and one as a dentist. Their daughter Debreon serves at the Executive Director of Secondary Education for Edmond Public Schools.
Darrell worked as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base for 35 years, retiring in January 2021 He served as Chief of the Installation Contracting Division at the Air Force Sustainment Center. He won the Air Force Civilian Achievement Award in 2002 for outstanding service. He also works as an adjunct professor for Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
